Auxiliary boilers must be reliable, efficient, and integrated within the production process.
June 27, 2022
For companies in the paper sector, efficient energy use is a competitive factor. That’s why they rely on dependable and highly efficient boilers, just as England’s largest paper mill did, choosing our firetube steam generators.
Working smarter, reducing waste, and building sustainable operating models are the most reliable tools for paper mills, which have to deal with the high energy cost.
In this context, the choice of production type and means of energy production play a key role.
For example, England’s leading paper mill uses a turbine to generate the steam and electricity needed to power the various lines for converting pulp into paper. Supporting the work of the turbine is a thermal power plant consisting of six auxiliary boilers, ready to intervene if the turbine has downtime or if there is an additional need for steam.
Why are auxiliary boilers so important?
Because they ensure the continuity of the production process, providing extra energy for specific operations or in case of a primary turbine failure. They are designed to always remain on hot stand-by, intervening when necessary. Plant downtime in the paper mill equals a significant economic loss.
This is why auxiliary boilers must be reliable, efficient, and integrated within the production process.
A challenging project
To replace four of the six auxiliary boilers in the thermal power plant, the British paper mill chose our SG series fire tube generators to produce 22t/h of superheated steam at 220°C.
All the supplied boilers are equipped with the OptiSpark control and management system, which, together with the specially designed burner and economizer, enables them to operate at very high-efficiency levels while reducing emissions. Designed to the customer’s specific needs, our generators are fully integrated with the production process, responding quickly and dynamically to turbine requirements, ensuring maximum reliability, and guaranteeing the continuity of pulp processing operations.
In addition, thanks to OptiSupport remote service, the customer has a Cannon Bono Energia technician at their side at all times. The client can connect with our experts in real-time and receive prompt assistance or support whenever it is needed, thus reducing maintenance costs and burdensome waiting times.
