E.ON Energy for a UK paper mill

The client is one of the UK’s largest paper mills, located a short distance from London.

The challenge

In 2019, a British multinational packaging business initiated a project for the mill. The project, was built and operated by E.ON, one of Europe’s largest operators of energy networks and infrastructure.

The paper mill had four old boilers that needed to be replaced. Though a turbine powers the main functionalities of the plant, these auxiliary boilers are needed to support the steam production with the turbine. Thus, they need not always be in full operation but require a quick start-up in order to be ready to work whenever necessary.

Solution advantages

E.ON chose four customized SG 2200 fire tube steam generators with steam production of 22 t/h, basing the decision on their performance, availability, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and customization options.

Our experienced partners in the UK were able to erect the boiler house and install our equipment inside, using their knowledge of the SG 2200s and ability to expertly meet all local regulations.
